This is an introduction to PHP programming. You will learn about core concepts of Computers and Programming. You will use PHP and Shell programming to learn about core language syntax and usage. In this course you will run PHP from the command line to print out results of your program, how to build a webpage, and perform File I/O. PHP is used in literally millions and millions of websites throughout the world. You will be provided detailed examples, that you can work through and run yourself in the lab. You will be assigned basic homework which will exercise your fundamental understanding of course-material.
Intro to computers (what is your computer made of: disk, ram, cpu..etc)
Intro to how to use your computer (mouse, keyboard, programs, internet)
Intro to basic computer programming concepts (running a program, load into ram, execution)
Learn basics of PHP programming language.
Create a command line program and run it.
Intro to programming language (show shell scripting and PHP as examples - open a file and create some output)
Intro to web-servers and browsers (showing basic communication between your browser and webserver, hosting webpages and CGI scripts)

Introduction to JAVA programming Level 1 (5 day course; 4 hours a day)
This is an introduction to JAVA programming. You will learn about core concepts of Java programming and core language syntax and constructs. JAVA is a programming language that is used to create webpages, desktop and mobile programs it is the most commonly used programming language in the world for Enterprise Applications. Students will learn how to create and run a program, basic File I/O, and how to build a data-driven webpage. Homework will be assigned to exercise fundamental understanding of course material. There will be lab times where the students can work out examples provided in class.
In this course you'll learn the basics of Oracle RDBMS. You'll learn how to create tables, and populate with data, and do basic operations on this data (CRUD : Create, Read, Update, Delete). You'll also learn some basic PLSQL to be able to run more advanced loops and data-processing on the server. You'll also learn how to call an Oracle RDBMS from Java, and PHP to integrate into a webpage.
